Eda Soylu was born in Istanbul in 1990. She graduated from Uskudar American Academy and spent one year of her high school education in Michigan through an Exchange program. She completed her undergraduate studies at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD ’13), and in 2012 participated in the school’s European Honors Program, studying in Rome for six months. Her first solo exhibition, Not Being Forgotten, How Strange, was held in 2014 at Berlin Art Projects in Istanbul. In 2015, she installed her work Wallpaper in the streets of Balat, while also participating in group exhibitions in Berlin. Her second solo exhibition, Constructing the House Anew, took place in 2016 at Gallery KHAS, Kadir Has University. Her third solo exhibition, Remnants From My Grandmother’s House, was presented at Mixer in 2018. In 2019, she presented Injured Moments at Barın Han as part of the Atonal 9 Solo exhibition series. In 2020, her exhibition Memory Objects was held at Goethe-Institut. In 2021, she presented Color Blocks for Adults at Ferda Art Platform. In 2025, she presented the exhibition In the Belly of the Whale at Barın Han with Hatice Utkan, bringing together poetry and art. Since 2020, Soylu has focused on painting as a medium of expression and continues her practice and life in Istanbul.
